# Staking Mechanics: Unlocking Alignment, Influence, and Yield

Staking is the foundation of Telgather’s value loop. It converts passive $TOG into **power, access, and control**—while rewarding players who commit, hold, and engage across the platform.

Staking $TOG through the Game Portal mints **$esTOG**, a non-transferable asset that:

* Grants **governance voting power**
* Unlocks **Diamond bonus rates** and **POG reward multipliers**
* Whitelists players for **airdrops**, **limited Game Passes**, and **seasonal NFT drops**
* Enables **platform-wide spending discounts**

Staking is non-custodial. $TOG remains locked in the smart contract and $esTOG is issued in return.
